OPEN HOUSE

Commonwealth Club Brothers:

This Thursday, September 7th, is the annual Commonwealth Club Open House. The event starts at 6PM and goes until whenever your wife said you have to be home.

The Open House is one of our oldest events and is traditionally the event that celebrates the start of a new club year. Back in the day when the club wasn’t air conditioned, there was little use of the facilities during the summer and the Open House was the event for re-uniting with fellow members after the summer recess while enjoying all the amenities that the clubhouse has to offer.

The Open House event is completely funded by the Club. There is no cost to the member. The Club provides the eats and beer, wine and whatever harder spirit someone may break out of the Club’s secret stash. We may also have musical guests for your entertainment and will be showing the seasons first NFL Thursday Night Football Game featuring the Chiefs vs the Patriots. The game will be on the many Club TV’s including the huge 25’ projection TV in the studio.

Although there is no cost for attending the Open House, your Club does ask for a favor. In addition to being a great time for camaraderie with your brothers, the Open House serves as our main new member recruitment push. Although not mandatory, we ask members to bring a friend or friends whom they feel may enjoy membership in the Commonwealth Club. This is a prime opportunity to show off your Club and all it has to offer and recruit your friends for Club membership.

Be advised that while most Club events are inclusive of families, wives, girlfriends, etc, we try to keep this event limited to members and their male friends only.

Please join us this Thursday night. Also, think about which of your friends would “fit the mold” and would enjoy the Club as much as you do. Ask them to join us on Thursday night for an evening of good food, drink, bowling, poker, pool, shuffleboard, just plain fun, and good fellowship.
