With over 200+ members, mostly from Montclair, Verona, Cedar Grove, Caldwell, and Glen Ridge, as well as from other towns statewide.

Membership gives you full access to our club facilities and, even more importantly, connects you with a diverse and interesting group of guys from around town. For the past 116 years, it’s really been about fellowship. Our members range in age from 21 to just under 90, and we have several fathers and sons among us. Everyone is here for good company and a good time. After one year as a member in good standing, you can rent our facilities at a discounted rate. After three years, you become a vested member. Our dues are very affordable for all the benefits you receive. We also offer a Junior Membership at half the regular dues for those aged 21 to 30.

Bowling League

More than half of our members join the Club’s bowling league, which runs from September to May in our private six-lane bowling alley. For some, it’s about competition; for others, it’s just for fun or to share a few beers with friends. It’s all of that and more.

Women's League

We have a thriving Women’s League that bowls on Monday nights, plus several Mixed Bowling nights during the year, where couples can compete for prize money in a relaxed setting. We also host a few long-standing bowling tournaments each year, and our popular Summer Bowling keeps the fun going during the off-season.

Family Friendly Group

The Commonwealth Club is a family-friendly organization. Throughout the year, we host events for members, their families, and friends. From Oktoberfest and Italian Sunday Dinner to the Super Bowl, Cajun Night, and the Beefsteak Dinner, our gatherings are always friendly and sometimes lively. We also participate in community events, such as Montclair’s annual Fourth of July Parade, where our float often wins a top prize and helps cool off the crowd. Through our Community Chest, we give back by awarding scholarships, supporting the Montclair Ambulance Unit, and doing our best to be good neighbors.
